New Mexico State University (NMSU) has announced the appointment of its alumnus, Daniel J. Jones, as entrepreneur-in-residence at the Hunt Center for Entrepreneurship, which is located within NMSU's Arrowhead Center. Jones, who graduated with a bachelor’s degree in finance from NMSU in 2004, will leverage his expertise to bolster entrepreneurial initiatives within the university.
Jones' extensive experience includes multiple roles as a founder, CEO, and entrepreneur. He specializes in building and scaling companies in highly regulated industries. With nearly two decades spent in early-stage technology startups and venture capital, Jones has also studied innovation at Stanford Graduate School of Business. According to an NMSU press release, he received two LEAD program Intellectual Contributor Awards for his contributions to design thinking and finance.
Carlos Murguia, director of the Hunt Center for Entrepreneurship expressed his enthusiasm about Jones' return to NMSU. "We are thrilled to welcome Daniel J. Jones back to his alma mater and our community. His experience and accomplishments as an entrepreneur make him an invaluable resource for the broader entrepreneurial ecosystem in the Borderplex region and New Mexico. Daniel’s commitment to positive social change aligns seamlessly with the Hunt center’s vision," said Murguia.
Jones himself shared his excitement about rejoining NMSU. "I am honored and excited to be back at NMSU and to have the opportunity to contribute to the growth of entrepreneurship.
