NMSU's Scale Up NM and NM Angels collaborate for 2024 TechSprint

New Mexico State University (NMSU) has announced that the Scale Up New Mexico program, in collaboration with New Mexico Angels, will conduct TechSprint accelerator programs in 2024. This partnership aims to provide startup founders with unique opportunities by granting them direct access to angel investors and mentors in New Mexico.

The collaboration will afford startups participating in the program access to mentorship, guidance, and potential funding prospects. To be eligible for TechSprint, startups must either be located in New Mexico or have plans to relocate to the state. Additionally, participants are required to commit to attending a weekly two-hour virtual session throughout the cohort's duration and actively engage in the development of technology-based innovations, according to a press release by NMSU.

"We are thrilled to announce our collaboration with New Mexico Angels for the TechSprint accelerator programs in 2024," said Carlos Murguia, Scale Up NM’s program manager, as reported by NMSU. "This partnership exemplifies our dedication to providing unparalleled support for startup founders, connecting them with experienced mentors and potential investors. We believe that by bridging the gap between startups and angel investors, we can catalyze innovation and contribute to the growth of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in New Mexico."

New Mexico Angels is an organization of angel investors committed to supporting start-up and high-growth companies. The group collaborates with both the venture capital community and angel groups in the Southwestern region. The organization creates avenues for its members to achieve exceptional financial returns through investments in early-stage companies, focusing on accelerating these companies towards market leadership, according to information available on the New Mexico Angels website.

"By joining forces, we aim to create a powerful synergy between startup founders and angel investors," said Drew Tulchin, president of New Mexico Angels, as stated by NMSU. "Together, we look forward to providing invaluable mentorship, guidance and investment opportunities that will propel these startups to new heights."
