Nuevo Atrisco breaks ground on Commercial Plaza

The city of Albuquerque announced revealed that Nuevo Atrisco has initiated the construction of the next phase of its development project. Under an agreement with the Metropolitan Redevelopment Agency (MRA), Nuevo Atrisco, LLC, will lease 1.6 acres of the site to establish a dynamic community plaza, according to a press release by the city of Albuquerque.

The community plaza initiative will involve the construction of a 16,900-square-foot plaza designed to meet the diverse needs of the community. Equipped with various amenities such as restrooms, a teaching kitchen, community room, interactive play area, water feature, art installations, shade structures, and a stage for community events, this inclusive space aims to cater to a wide range of interests said the city of Albuquerque.

“We believe in this community, and we envision more things happening,” said Steve Maestas from Nuevo Atrisco LLC. “We develop in all parts of the state and in Texas, and this community is very active, very appreciative and very engaged in what happens here. It makes our lives much more fruitful when we can have a working partnership with the community.”

Moreover, leasing opportunities for seven micro-restaurants will be provided by the plaza. This step encourages culinary diversity and entrepreneurial ventures within the community. Approximately 1.5 acres including two parcels along Central Avenue have been assigned for commercial development marking a major advancement in this important phase stated by Albuquerque's city.
