The 2023 pitch competition of the Scale Up New Mexico program, hosted by New Mexico State University (NMSU), has recently concluded. According to an NMSU press release, each startup involved in the event delivered compelling pitches of their innovative solutions to a panel of judges.
"Pitch competition at NMSU honors entrepreneurs," stated NMSU.
The Scale Up New Mexico program is situated at the Arrowhead Center at NMSU and receives partial funding from the U.S. Economic Development Administration. After the presentations, judges chose Scintellite, Cheshir Industries, and Perspective Components as the top three startups. Scintellite specializes in ophthalmic instruments for streamlined eye exams; Cheshir Industries provides cost-effective antenna hardware for high-speed 5G deployment; and Perspective Components use their NoiseVu technology that employs AI to alert law enforcement to various crimes and emergencies. The event also featured keynote speakers sharing their experiences, as per an NMSU press release.
"We're thrilled about the boundless potential and innovation that these startups bring to the table," said Dana Catron, deputy director at Arrowhead Center according to an NMSU press release. "The future of these businesses shines brilliantly through Scale Up NM, and we are excited to witness their transformative impact on New Mexico’s entrepreneurial landscape."
Carlos Murguia, Scale Up NM program manager expressed his excitement towards this year's pitch competition outcomes saying, “We are proud to have witnessed such incredible innovation and entrepreneurial spirit. These startups represent the bright future of New Mexico's business landscape," he mentioned in a statement included in an NMSU press release.
TD Raymond of Scintellite - which took first place in the competition - emphasized on the support they have received from Arrowhead Center by stating, "Arrowhead has been incredibly supportive on our startup journey," said Raymond as quoted in an NMSU press release. "Every interaction with mentors has provided valuable feedback that has allowed us to make adjustments to our strategies and perspectives."
