The conference, titled "Amplifying Outreach Through Education, Health, and Economic Development," aims to highlight the university's efforts in these areas. According to a press release by NMSU, registration for the conference is now open to the public.

One of the key highlights of the conference will be the special awards ceremony, where the recipient of the Kevin B. Boberg Economic Development Award of Excellence will be recognized. This award celebrates individuals who have made significant contributions to NMSU's economic development. Attendees will also have the opportunity to explore the 2022 NMSU Economic Impact Report, providing insights into the university's economic contributions.

“I am looking forward to recognizing the impact Dr. Kevin Boberg had on NMSU, the community, region and state,” said Luis Cifuentes, vice president of NMSU’s Office of Research, Creativity and Economic Development, according to a press release by NMSU. “Students are encouraged to participate and learn more about their university’s educational, health and economic development impacts.”

The conference will span two days, starting on Tuesday, November 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., and continuing on Wednesday, November 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. The event will take place at the Las Cruces Convention Center, located at 680 E. University Ave. The first day of the conference will feature sessions on Extension health programs, social determinants of health, and various breakout sessions covering education, economic development, and more. The second day will begin with an introduction and continue with sessions on health, education, and economic development, concluding with a discussion on future planning.

“This will be a special, exciting Outreach Conference and part of the continuing dialogue we must nurture between the university and stakeholders in New Mexico,” said Luis Cifuentes according to a press release by NMSU.
