The New Mexico Mortgage Finance Authority (MFA) announced Monday it has been recognized as one of the distinguished organizations in the large company category by Albuquerque Business First in its 2023 ‘Best Places to Work Awards.’

Results were determined from employee surveys conducted by Quantum and an award ceremony was held on Aug. 10 at the Santa Ana Star Casino Hotel, according to a press release.

“Through my 31 years at MFA, I have witnessed many changes and evolution, yet the organization has consistently remained faithful to its pursuit of providing every New Mexican with a chance to access affordable housing and a place to call home,” said Isidoro Hernandez, CEO, and executive director of MFA. “This is a vision we have always worked for and will relentlessly strive to achieve. Working for a company that wholeheartedly embraces a mission that I am proud to dedicate myself to brings me genuine satisfaction.”

The MFA claimed fourth place, one position higher than the organization placed in 2022, according to the release.

Over 120 people are employed by the MFA and all of them are “unified in the mission to help ensure every New Mexican has access to safe, quality, affordable housing,” the release stated. The organization offers more than 30 programs to meet a variety of housing requirements including home-buying support, rental assistance, home maintenance, and funding for the construction of affordable housing.
