Erick Varela, age 39, born in Madera, Chihuahua, Mexico and a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on May 21, 2023. Erick is survived by his wife of twenty-two years, Guadalupe Varela; children, Erick Varela Jr., Eliana Varela and boyfriend, Joel Hernandez; mother, Rosa E. Gamboa; siblings, Humberto Varela and wife, Sandra, Melissa Varela and husband, Enrique Trujillo; nephews; David Varela, Johnny Varela, Fabian Lopez, Hector Veleta, Alexander Trujillo, Angel Trujillo, Aslan Trujillo. Visitation will be held in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel 1000 Old Coors Dr. SW on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at 5:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 6:00p.m. Final visitation will be held at St. Anne Catholic Church 1400 Arenal Rd SW on Friday, May 26, 2023, at 8:00 a.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 8:30 a.m. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Father Nick presiding. Interment will follow the Mass at Sunset Memorial Cemetery 924 Menual Blvd NE. Pallbearers will be Erick Varela Jr., Fabian Lopez, Humberto Varela, Johnny Varela, David Varela, and Aaron Medina.
