Jose “Sonny” Valenzuela, age 73, a resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on March 24, 2023. Sonny is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Charlene; children, son, Donald Valenzuela and wife, Doreen and daughter, Monica Valenzuela; grandchildren, Samantha, Ashley, Joey, Jude, Malik, and Tatiana; great-grandchildren, Jamie, Zoey, Syre, Nova, Nylah, Chloe; siblings, Virginia Merieles, Isabel Cianchetti, Kathy Korte and husband, Bill, Mary Anne Jaramillo and husband, Rueben, Manuel Valenzuela and wife, Regina, Eva Cianchetti and husband, Wayne; in-laws, Bobby Olguin and wife Betty, Reggie Olguin and wife Evelyn, Carlos Olguin Jr., Corrine Campos and husband, Rudy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Manuel, and Frances Valenzuela; sisters, Lucy Valenzuela, Chona Garcia; brother Frank Wilson; in-laws, Birtha Olguin and husband, Carlos, and mother and father in-law Albert Olguin and Doris Bradley Mr. Valenzuela served his country proudly in the United States Army. Visitation will be held at 8:00 a.m. on Monday, April 10, 2023, at Holy Family Catholic Church 562 Atrisco Dr. SW with a Rosary to be recited at 8:30 a.m. by Evelyn Gurule. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Father Patrick presiding. Internment will follow the services at Mt. Calvary Cemetery 1900 Edith Blvd NE
