Obituary

Mary Evelyn Stewart, 91, a life-long resident of Albuquerque died March 7, 2023. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara and husband Mike Fuge of Albuquerque and her grandchildren, Veronica and husband Dillion Gialouris, and Joy Lockwald; and her brothers Edward and wife Carol Yrisarri and Paul Yrisarri as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.  Mary was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Mary Evelyn Yrisarri, her brother Francis Yrisarri, and her grandson Samuel Lockwald.

Mary Evelyn was retired from Sandia National Laboratories where she worked as a secretary in several different organizations.  Previously, she had worked many years at the Kelleher Law Firm in Albuquerque.

Mary attended St. Vincent Academy and graduated from Albuquerque High School.  She also attended the University of New Mexico where she was a member of the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority.

She was a long-time member of Annunciation Catholic Church.  A visitation will be held 2:00-4:00 p.m. Monday, March 20, 2023 at French Funerals and Cremations, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. A Rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at Annunciation Catholic Church, 2600 Vermont St. NE, Alb., NM 87112.  Mass will be celebrated following the Rosary, Msgr. Voorhies, Celebrant.  Interment will follow Gate of Heaven Cemetery.  A reception will follow interment at French, 7121 Wyoming Blvd.
