Cold weather didn’t damper the spirits of attendees at the Albuquerque Food Truck and Craft Beer Festival on Saturday.

According to KRQE, the festival attracted hundreds of people to Fiesta Park to eat food from the region's best known food trucks. On the menu was everything from burgers to Hawaiian barbecue, along with music and craft beer. The event was hosted by the Food Truck Festivals of America (FTFA), and it marked the seventh year that Albuquerque held the event.

“I think this is great for the small businesses [that] get to partake. It’s a nice area. Everyone seems like they’re in a good mood. Everybody’s ready to get out for spring," Ellen Opela, an attendee at the festival, told the news station.

According to the Food Truck Festival of America, “The whole idea for FTFA started back in 2011 when we were reading about this new trend in dining out called ‘food trucks.’ They were big in L.A. They were parked in N.Y. They were hot in D.C. They were starting to arrive in New England."

The first Food Truck Festival of America was held at The Pinehills in Plymouth, Massachusetts and featured eight trucks and 4,000 people showed up to revel in the festivities.

“We were stunned. Then came our second, 12 trucks and 6,000 people. Then our third, 18 trucks and 10,000 people. At that point, we knew we were onto something big. Fast forward 10 years later...here we are," according to the festival's website.

Hannah Woods was another attendee who enjoyed being outside and partaking in the festivities.

"As long as the sun is out after such a rainy week, it's really awesome that it's so sunny," Woods told KOAT. "And drinks keep you warm."

Woods added that her favorite food spot was the With Love Waffles truck, where you could order tacos, sandwiches and waffles.
