Obituary
Ronald (Ron) Domres passed away peacefully on Monday, February 27, 2023. Born in 1938 in Glenview, IL. He moved to Albuquerque in 1962. Ron began a career as a Computer Scientist at Sandia Labs. At the advice of Sid Cutter, Ron bought his first hot air ballon in 1975, the "Jolly Rodger." He flew the "JR" and the "JR-II" in every Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta over the next 24 years.
Ron was a good man, with a big heart. He loved his family, friends, and his beloved pets. He will always be cherished and deeply missed. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Lorin and Myrtle Domres; and his loving wife of 53 years, Carole Domres. He is survived by his son, Robert and Sherri Domres; daughter, Deborah Williamson; niece, Linda and Ray Josephson; grandchildren, Fallon and Jerry Phillips and Theresa Primaveri; and all his many loving great- and great-great-grandchildren.
Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life Service on Thursday, March 9, 2023, 11:00 a.m., at the Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum Chapel at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Following the service, he will be buried at Sunset Memorial Park.
