Age 71, devoted mother and grandmother, passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2023. Jeannie “Butchie” Gomez was born and raised in Albuquerque. She loved music, dancing and cooking. She was a loving, compassionate and forgiving person. Jeannie’s greatest accomplishment was her children. Her love will live with us forever.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Selso and Della Gutierrez, sister, Mary-Ann Gutierrez.
Jeannie is survived by her children, Lisa Gomez and husband, Alejandro, Marlene Maestas and husband, Thomas, Darlene Valdez and husband, Raymond, Ernie Gomez III; 10 grandchildren, Danielle, Myranda, Alyssa, Anthony, Melinda, Phillip, Rochelle, Melissa, Andrea and Andrew; 16 great grandchildren; siblings, Georgia Jaramillo and husband, Jim, Steve Gutierrez and wife, Maria; great aunt, Loretta Ortega and husband, Rudy, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; best friend, Ernestine Newson-Williams.
