In a year marked by political challenges, the Albuquerque Social Club hosted the 2025 Resilience celebration, providing a moment of collective joy and recognition for New Mexico’s LGBTQ+ communities. The event featured awards honoring advocacy and leadership, with recipients including Samuel Poarch and Todd McElroy receiving the Liz Stefanics Longevity Award, while Senator Angel Charley and Las Cruces City Counselor Beck Corran were named Badass of the Year.
The evening was filled with performances hosted by LaRhya Daniels, also known as EQNM Executive Director Marshall Martinez. Notably, Nathan Saavedra made his debut drag performance as Filibust-her, raising $6,800. The night included appearances by Koda Daniels, Avery, Kalorie Karbdashian, Jessica K Daniels, Trey C Michaels, and DJ Flightphonic.
Photos captured moments from the event such as EQNM’s Hazel Valente-Compton with volunteers Anne Peralta, Rosie Emery, Gina Miller, and Devon Miller who helped ensure the success of the fundraiser. Former US Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland delivered a speech and contributed to an auction that raised $7,500.
EQNM expressed gratitude towards all involved in making the event successful. The organization emphasized that Resilience is not just an annual party but represents an ongoing commitment to building power and protecting each other within the community.
