Kylynn Copeland, a New Mexico native with roots in the state’s agriculture industry, is featured in COWGIRL Magazine.

“It’s a really neat thing that women are able to showcase their abilities and how they have influence within the industry,” Copeland, a COWGIRL 30 Under 30 honoree said in an interview with KRQE TV.

Copeland lives in Fort Sumner with her husband and daughter on a cattle ranch. She grew up in eastern New Mexico where she was involved in 4-H and Future Farmers of America.

Copeland majored in agriculture communication and animal science in college and also interned at the American Quarter Horse Association where she currently works in the marketing department.

“I really just fell in love with the industry,” Copeland said. “I didn’t have a lot of horse background but was able to learn and just understand the whole facet of American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA). It’s way bigger than I ever realized.”

COWGIRL Magazine learned of her dedication to the industry and invited her to be part of a segment that features rising female stars in the industry called COWGIRL 30 Under 30 in 2020, according to KRQE.

She was chosen from more than 100 applications and is the only New Mexican featured. The honorees will be acknowledged at a gala in Fort Worth, Texas, next month.

Why has Copeland’ been successful?

“If you just love agriculture and the Western way of life, just follow that passion and just really pursue your dreams,” she said.
