7. PRESENTATION

a. FY21 Audit Update (Emily Oster, Finance Director, 505-629-3411, ekoster@santafenm.gov)

Chief Accounting Officer, Ricky Bejarano, gave an updated presentation on the two audits underway.

Finance Director, Emily Oster gave a brief explanation on GASB with additional information to follow in January.

b. Economic Update Presentation. (Reilly White, Erebor LLC., reillywhite@unm.edu)

Dr. Reilly White with Erebor LLC, introduced himself and gave a summary of the state of the economy and future outlook going into 2023. Jobs to be impacted in 2023 with a worsening outlook next year. Inflation looks like it has peaked. Recession looks likely and severity of the downturn remains unknown. The Federal Reserve will likely continue to increase rates for one or two cycles.

Dr. Reilly recommended that City Government proceed with caution going into the FY23 budget.

c. Midtown Moving Forward - Economics of Land Development at Midtown Presentation Series (three parts): “Part 3: Midtown and the City’s Return on Investment (ROI): Public Policy and Community Benefits”. (Rich Brown, Office of Economic Development Director, Rich Brown, 505-955- 6625, rdbrown@santafenm.gov; Dena Belzer, Principal, Strategic Economics, Midtown Land Economics Consultant; dbelzer@strategiceconomics.com).

Office of Economic Development Director, Richard Brown gave an overview of the presentation to follow by Dana Belzer, Principal with Strategic Economics Consultant.

Dana Belzer, with Strategic Economics presented the City’s return on investment and public policy and community benefits.
