Obituary
Jose Gabaldon "Joe", age 89, lived in Barelas most of his life, passed away Saturday, September 10th, 2022. Mr. Gabaldon is survived by his loving daughter, Joann Gabaldon-Chavez and husband, David Chavez; his two sons, Ruben Gabaldon and wife, Esther Gabaldon; Donald Gabaldon and wife, Esmerelda Gabaldon; and his girlfriend, Olga Barefoot. He also leaves behind two cherished sisters, two brothers, eleven grandchildren, fiftteen great-grandchildren and many friends. Jose was a social butterfly, who retired from Sandia Laboratory where he worked as a printer. He was a proud Army veteran who served our country. He enjoyed collecting antiques, spending time at the Barelas Senior Center drinking coffee with family and friends. We thank him for all the wonderful memories, he will truly be missed.
A visitation will be held for Jose on Tuesday, September 20th, 2022, starting at 6:00 p.m. followed by a Rosary at 7:00 p.m., Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 309 Stover Ave. SW Albuquerque, NM
The Mass will take place on Wednesday, September 21st, 2022, at 9:30 a.m., Sacred Heart Church, 309 Stover Ave. SW Albuquerque, NM., with a reception to follow beginning at 10:30 a.m., at the Sacred Heart parish hall.
Jose will be laid to rest at the Santa Fe National Cemetery, 501 N. Guadalupe St. Santa Fe, NM at 2:00 p.m. Please join us in celebrating his life.
