Obituary

Mildred (Montoya) Giannini, 73, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend passed away on September 4, 2022. She was born on February 21, 1949, in Albuquerque, NM, born to Sotero and Rebecca Montoya. She dedicated her career as a dual language educator in the elementary public school education system for 37 years where she was proud to teach in the south valley, especially to the point that she was teaching the grandchildren of her original students. Although her career as a licensed teacher spanned an impressive 37 years, her guidance and teachings will live forever. Mildred loved her children, grandchildren, and students. She loved being a soccer mom, loved her arts and crafts, reading, and sewing. She was exceptional with the attributes of motherhood in that she was kind, patient, respectful, humble, empathetic, loving, and supportive.

Mildred was preceded in death by her father, Sotero Montoya; mother, Rebecca Montoya; brother, Joseph Montoya; and sister, Agnes Coffelt. Mildred is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Charles Giannini Sr. of Albuquerque; their 6 children: son, Michael Giannini, son, Paul Giannini, daughter, Angelina Gachupin and husband, Kai Gachupin, son, "Charlie" Giannini Jr. and wife, Marina Giannini, son, Jeremy Giannini, son, Isaac Giannini and wife, Adriana Giannini; her amazing 11 grandchildren who she adored and loved unconditionally, Dominic Giannini, Dominique Giannini, Angelino Roibal Giannini, Mycah Gachupin, Charles "Carlo" Giannini III, Mariana Giannini-Orona, Kai Gachupin Jr., Delano Gachupin, Ezra Giannini, Alessia Giannini, and Mila Giannini; siblings, MaryAnn Chavez, Fermin Montoya, Frances Montoya, Elsie McClelland, Theresa Garcia, Liz Lucero, John Montoya, James Montoya.

The Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, September 14, 2022, 6:00 p.m., at FRENCH - Westside, with a visitation beforehand from 5:00-6:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated the following day on Thursday, September 15, 2022, 10:00 a.m. at St. Therese of the Infant Jesus Shrine, 3424 4th St. NW. Burial will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.
