Obituary
Donald Poteat, 86, was called to his eternal resting place on June 21, 2022. Don was born on March 4, 1936 in Carthage, NC, to Clarence and Wilma Poteat. He was a kind and generous son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, and friend, well respected in his community.
Don was a retired Air Force veteran who proudly served his country for over 20 years and later owned Thrifty Car Rental & Sales and several other businesses. He is survived by his spouse, Annabell; daughters, Pam Poteat and Michelle Murphy; son-in-law, Michael Murphy; his beloved grandchildren, Cameron and Carleigh Murphy; and, many other family members.
Visitation will occur at FRENCH - Wyoming on July 5 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm. Funeral service will occur at St. John XXIII on July 6 at 10:30 am followed by burial at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 3:00 pm.
