Obituary

Lena Minchow, age 89, of Sandia Park, NM, passed away after a long illness on Thursday, November 18, 2021. She was born and raised in Edgewood, NM. After traveling the world as a military wife, she finally settled down in Sandia Park, NM. She is preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey R. Minchow, and her daughter, Alys (Trixie) Minchow. She is survived by four remaining children, Gaynel Minchow, Robin Minchow, Wayne Garcia, and Bruce Minchow.

Lena also leaves behind her sisters, Mary (Lovey) Irish, Erlinda Montoya; and Lupe Garcia; two brothers, Gus Garcia, and Gene Garcia - and many loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Lena was employed as a food service worker at the now defunct Barn Dinner Theater in Cedar Crest and later at a Day Care Center in Albuquerque. She loved reading, traveling, water aerobics.

A Rosary and funeral service will be held Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 10:00 at Holy Child Parish in Tijeras, NM. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Alzheimer's Association.
