New Mexico's Roswell High School dance team recently twirled their way to a 14th championship title.
The Charlie’s Angels dance team in Roswell has been led for nearly 23 years by dance coach Kim Castro, according to KRQE. Under her leadership, the team has won 14 championship titles, including three national titles, but the coach gives all the credit to the students.
"Our kids are very dedicated when they come to our program," Castro told KRQE News. "They know what is expected from them."
“It’s a program that people want to be a part of, and they’ll go the extra mile to contribute their part to the program,” Castro added.
Castro says the team is dedicated to setting goals and breaking those goals in order to do the best they can. Only one team member is graduating this year, so Castro is excited for the same team to be competing during the next season.
“Okay, now we know we can get first,” she said. “Once we got first, it was kinda a scary place to be, because where do you go from there?”
The dance coach said she still has a lot to give to the team and has no plans to retire anytime soon, KRQE reported.
