Maxine Sanchez, 59, of Albuquerque, NM, passed away on March 18, 2022. She was born on May 13, 1962, in Roswell, NM. Maxine loved to take trips to Roswell, ride her motorcycle, be outdoors, cook, and tend to her turtles. She loved her children, grandchildren, and family very much.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Sanchez-Lankford; brother, Richard Sanchez; son, Raymond Santillanes; and sister, Linda Garner-Hern.
Maxine is survived by her husband, Diego Rubi; son Jeremy Montoya, his wife Janice Montoya and his children Elijah and Maya Montoya; son Fernando Santillanes, his wife Stephanie Santillanes and their son Champ Santillanes; grandchildren Raymond and Brooklyn Santillanes; sister (cousin), Toni De La Rosa; nephew and niece, John and Victoria Hern; and many cousins and extended family members.
God saw that you were getting tired, and a cure was not to be. So He put His arms around you and He whispered, “Come with Me.” With tearful eyes we watched you fade away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands to rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, that He only takes the best!
It’s lonesome here without you, we miss you more each day, life doesn’t seem the same since you went away. When days are sad and lonely, and everything goes wrong, we seem to hear you whisper, “Cheer up and carry on.” Each time we see your picture, you seem to smile and say, “Don’t cry, I’m in God’s hands, we’ll meet again someday!”

Funeral Services will be conducted Thursday, April 28, 2022, at 10:00 AM at Legacy Church- East Side Campus, 4701 Wyoming Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109. Reception to follow onsite.
