Obituary

Jacob (Jake) Stewart Bushey passed from this earth on Monday, March 21, 2022, in the mountains of New Mexico that he loved since childhood and his soul is at rest.

Jacob was born on November 18, 1992, in Albuquerque, NM. From the day he was born, he captured his mother’s heart and the hearts of so many others. He was a colorful, incredibly talented musical genius with a head of red hair that matched his bright personality and was well loved by family and friends.

Jacob never sat. He was always on the move and had endless energy and enthusiasm for life. He was interested in everything, especially nature. He raised iguanas and brought home all manner of creatures throughout his childhood. He was good at chess and won many local tournaments. His favorite hobbies included Tae Kwon Do, hiking, cycling, dirt biking, climbing, running, weight training, riding motorcycles and skateboarding. He led hiking expeditions in The Sandia Mountains and enjoyed training friends in weightlifting protocols. Jacob had a musical ear, played in several bands over the years, created mixed beats and was an incredible self-taught drummer. He worked at Endurance International as a web hosting and management agent and in the tech industry where he learned how to integrate audio visual and IT systems. He was very entrepreneurial, an inventor with a curious, inquisitive mind and he also studied auto mechanics. He had a passion for motorcycles and built his bike, a Honda CBR600, and took every opportunity he could to ride.

Jacob adored his friends and family and would light up a room with his amazing energy.

He lovingly leaves behind his 4-year-old son, Marion; his fiancé, Anissah; his mother, Bonnie Peterson and stepfather Brad Peterson; father, Scott Bushey; brother, Luke Bushey; grandparents, Bob and Barbara Stewart, Bob and Claudia Bushey; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

A visitation and casket signing with family and friends will be held on Friday, April 1, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2022, 2:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas. Burial immediately following the service at Sunset Memorial Park.

In lieu of memorial contributions, an education fund has been set up for Jacob’s 4-year-old son, Marion Bushey to invest and provide for future opportunities.
