Obituary

Illene Mae Harrison, 89, was called to her eternal resting place on March 22, 2022. Illene is survived by her three children, Foster (April) Harrison of W. Bountiful, UT; Joan (Rolen) Burnette of Gibsonia, PA and Janet Harrison of Albuquerque and four grandchildren, Matthew Burnette, Megan Burnette, Rebecca Harrison and Andy (Ursina) Burnette. She is survived by brother, Wes Broer and wife Sara; predeceased by brothers, Robert Broer and wife Theda; Charles Broer and Maxine; Allen Broer and George Broer and wife Dorothy.

Illene was born in February 1933 in Huron SD.  Her parents were Paul & Daisy Broer. She lived primarily in Huron until she moved to Northern Virginia in 1967 after her divorce. She had been Secretary-Treasurer of Farmers Union in Huron and then had several different Administrative & Executive positions in Washington DC.  Her last position was as Retirement Counselor for the U S Dept of Agriculture.   She obtained her Bachelor's degree from Strayer College while in VA.

Illene moved to Albuquerque in 1992. While in ABQ, she joined Kiwanis Club. She served many positions, including Distinguished President of the Kiwanis Albuquerque from 1999-2000. She will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. that the first draft was included on the same email. A memorial service is being held for her on Saturday, March 26th at 2 p.m. at La Vida Llena, in Carter Hall.
