Obituary
Our beloved Mom, Grandmama, Lala, Comadre, Lucy T. Griego, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, March 4, 2022 surrounded by family.
Lucy was preceded in death by her cherished husband of 62 years Margarito Griego; parents, sister Sylvia Miller; brothers: Pee Wee Trujillo, Johnny Trujillo; in-laws: Lela and Fecho Chavez and Toby Griego.
She is survived by her sons: David Griego (Judy), Albert Griego (Lyndsey), Adam Griego (Sharon); daughters: Dina Otero (Virgil), Reggie Sanchez (Leonard); sister Toni Madrid; sister-in-law Annie Griego, very special niece Eleanor Nogash (Jim); eight grandchildren: Consuelo Silva Leifheit (Kevin), Leonardo Sanchez (Lydia), Luis Otero, Mario Otero (Stacie), Danielle Servick (John), A.J. Griego, Gabriel Griego, and Mariah Griego.
Lucy was born to parents Pasqual and Eleanor Trujillo on May 17, 1930. Lucy was a nurse’s aide before she married Margo and then became a homemaker. She kept her children, Godchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, neighbors, and other loved ones laughing with her great sense of humor and quick wit. Lucy was also a long-time member of Our Lady of the Guadalupe Catholic Church.
The family appreciates the prayers and well wishes offered by many and would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Sara Jordan and Jessica Sanchez RN, with Presbyterian for their loving care of Lucy.
Lucy's Life Celebration will begin with a Visitation Friday, March 18, 2022 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church located at 1860 Griegos Rd NW, 87107. Mass will begin at 10:30 am. Reception will be held at the family home.
Lucy will be laid to rest with Margarito on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at 9:00 am at the Santa Fe National Cemetery located at 501 N Guadalupe St, Santa Fe 87501.
Pallbearers will be Luis Otero, Mario Otero, AJ Griego, Gabriel Griego, Leo Sanchez, and Jacob Sanchez.
