Obituary
Merlinda Perez, age 91, passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2022, born on September 23, 1930, in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
She lived in Albuquerque all her life except for five years that she lived in South Gate, CA.
She spent 1966 -1971 in Los Angeles as all her family was there and then returned to Albuquerque.
Merlinda was a kind and loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt loved by all. She loved her family and enjoyed family gatherings, Weddings, Birthdays and Holidays. Never missing a good party and fun with the people she loved. She was a bingo player and loved the casino slots.
She is survived by her son, Rick Perez; son and daughter-in-law Mike and Martha Perez; daughter and son-in-law Veronica and Louie Gomez; sister and brother-in-law Lorrie and Gerald Chavez; grandchildren, Chris Perez, James Perez, Jonathan Perez, Ricky Perez, Michael Perez, Chrishelle Gomez, and Jordan Gomez; great-grandchildren; Christina Barajas, Destiny Perez, CJ Perez, Chrishelle Perez, Ryder Perez, Shelby Perez, Forever Grace Perez, and Elijah Perez and nephews and nieces whom she loved as her own children.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecilio Perez, parents Frank Armijo, and Eufemia Armijo; sisters, Margie Armijo, Mary Armijo; and brothers, Robert Armijo, Christie Armijo, Eddie Armijo, and Benjo Armijo
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 25th, 2022, at 10:30 a.m., Calvary Chapel Rio Grande, 19381 Main St. Belen, New Mexico 87002, reception will follow the service at Calvary Chapel.
Burial will also be on Friday, February 25th, 2022, at 2:00 p.m., Mount Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith Blvd NE Albuquerque, NM 87102.
