Obituary

Joanna M. Hannah (Jan), 71, beloved Wife, Mother, and Grandmother, was called to her eternal resting place on January 27th, 2022. She entered this world on August 17th, 1950 in South Bend, IN, born to Robert and Esther Hartzell. She is Pre-deceased by Lt. Col. Michael Hannah, her husband of 43 years. She is survived by her sons, Joseph (Joy) and John (Michelle) of Albuquerque; step daughter Tiffany Pierson (Chad) of Oregon; sisters, Sara Milligan (Bill) of Illinois; Nina Mardauss of Illinois; brother, Mark Hartzell of North Carolina; and 8 grandchildren.

Jan was a gifted professional artist. She studied art at Rock Valley College in Rockford, IL. She could paint, but her favorite was freelance pencil drawings. She owned her own business doing astonishing pencil drawings for people. She also enjoyed playing the piano and classical guitar. She traveled throughout Europe as well in her younger years. As an Air Force officer's wife, she was always a warm and welcoming hostess. After retirement, Jan and Mike enjoyed traveling, sightseeing, and visiting distant family in their motor home.

Jan was a loving, supportive, and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be immensely missed by all who knew and loved her. 

A Funeral Service will be held Friday, February 4, 2022, 10:00 a.m. at FRENCH - Lomas.   Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. prior to the service.

A Committal Service will be held on Thursday, February 17, 2022 at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
