Obituary

Anna Concetta Schmidt passed away at Avista Senior Living on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at the age of 90, with family by her side. Born to Thomas Suro and Mary Concetta Suro on December 21, 1930, in Trenton N.J., Anna was the youngest of seven children. In 1957 she married the love of her life, Ralph, and welcomed her son Rick into the world in 1958, followed by her daughter Leslie in 1961.

In 1969 the family moved from New Jersey to Savannah, GA, where they stayed for seven years. In 1976, the family moved across the country to Los Alamos, NM, before relocating to Albuquerque in 1993 when Ralph retired.Throughout her life, Anna was an exceptional cook. From her pasta to her lasagna, a meal prepared by Anna was never one to be missed. Not only did her food leave stomachs full, but most importantly, it brought her family closer together.

Anna is survived by her son, Rick; daughter, Leslie; daughter-in-law, Norma; and her grandson, Grayson. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary; father, Thomas; siblings Kate, Francis, Frank, Fred, Pete, Josephine; and her beloved husband Ralph.

Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, December 29, 2021, 10:00 a.m. at Saint John XXIII Catholic Community, 4841 Tramway Ridge Drive NE.
