She was born in Elk City, Oklahoma, on October 28, 1934, to Charlie and Marilou Baxter.  She married Dr. Paul E. Tyler, MD USN on March 17, 1957.  Proceeding her in death are her parents; husband; and two brothers, Charles and Robert (Bob) Baxter.  She is survived by her children, Cheryl Wise and husband Scott of Rio Rancho, NM, Paul Gregory Tyler and wife Lei Xiao of Gainesville, FL; grandchildren, Stephanie Tyler, Cody Naff, Kenneth Naff, Katherine Naff and Kalob Naff; her brother, Kenneth (Ken) Baxter and wife Belinda; sister-in-law, Linda Baxter and brother-in-law, David Tyler; many nieces and nephews; cousins; great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Wynell graduated from the University of Colorado with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing with Special Honors.  She worked as a public health nurse in Denver, Colorado until Paul completed his medical school training and returned to active duty with the US Navy at which point Wynell became a full-time wife and mother.  In addition to raising her children, she became active in the community.  She was the PTA vice-president and president for several years at her children’s schools.  She joined the Woman’s Club of Potomac which focused on Fine Arts, Education, Community Service and supporting local charity organizations.  During these years, she was president from 1975 – 1977 and volunteered thousands of hours.

In 1977, Wynell joined the work force again as a nurse and began a career in the newly developing home health care industry.  She was certified as a case manager in acute/critical care nursing and as a rehabilitation specialist.  Finally, after moving to Albuquerque, she founded her own company, Case Management Resources, and worked until the age of 82.  After moving to Albuquerque, Wynell worked part-time in order to have time with Paul.  She loved traveling, going to the Opera, Symphony and the Theater.  She and Paul attended the Santa Fe Opera annually with friends for over 30 years.  Through their love of the Theatre, both Wynell and Paul began volunteering as ushers at Popejoy Hall in Albuquerque shortly after moving to NM in 1991.

Wynell was active in the church her entire life, attending the Presbyterian Church (USA).  She and Paul were received into the Active Membership of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Albuquerque, NM on March 7, 1995.  As a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church, she was a Deacon and a Parish Visitor.
