Cancer Services of New Mexico is hosting a Zoom cancer retreat Oct. 23 and 24.
"It affects everybody," Janet Cook, who works for the Albuquerque program, said. "It affects children, your aunts and uncles, you brothers and sisters, your mom and dad. So Cancer Services really focuses on the family and how can we help them."
Participants invited to the retreat include adult cancer patients, survivors, and their caregivers, family members, and friends. As part of the webinar, more than 20 of the state's leading cancer specialist will be taking part.
It is recommended that participants have access to a smart phone as it will enable them to virtually "raise a hand" in order to ask questions of the speakers.

The organization offers volunteer opportunities and also the ability to sponsor the individual family of a patient suffering from cancer.
Cancer Services of New Mexico also has a newsletter that individuals can subscribe to on their website, and offers a LIPA program to handle assistance for legal issues, paperwork and insurance for cancer stricken families at no additional cost to them.
