Edith M. Sumner was born May 29, 1929 in Wilmington, Delaware. She passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2021.

Edith was avid bingo player for years and loved playing cards with family. She will be remembered as a big Elvis Presley fan, she “loved him”, as well she always kept us in stitches. Edith brightened up anyone’s day that met her with her smile and zest for life. Being with family was the most important part of her life.

Edith was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, John M. Sumner.  She is survived by her son, Clarence Sumner; five daughters, Cynthia Seckinger and husband William, Tammy Roberts, Venus Sanford, Patty Miller and husband Larry and Peggy Sedillo; brother, Johnny Petrucci; 14 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; as well as other family members and friends who loved and will miss her.

Services will be held in the Chapel of Direct Funeral Services, on Thursday, September 30, 2021. A visitation will begin at 2:00 pm with the funeral service at 3:00 pm.

Interment will take place at the Santa Fe National Cemetery on Monday, October 11, 2021 at 1:30 pm.
