A taco and margarita festival is still scheduled for Albuquerque despite complaints from other cities about the traveling event, according to a report by KRQE.
Previous participants have complained about purchasing tickets for $10 to $40 and then arriving at the event to find a lack of food trucks, long lines, and no live entertainment as the event had promised.
“They might be in locales where there might just not be vendors to be had so I think we’ll have a full slate of vendors and we’re going to have a great music lineup and then, of course, we’ll be serving delicious margaritas,” Jose Garcia, general manager at the Albuquerque Convention Center, said.
Garcia also said that the event is still awaiting approval from the city and finalizing arrangements.
Tacos and Margs, an Arizona-based company, will host the event; general admission tickets are $10, while VIP tickets are $40, which include a T-shirt, two tacos, and two margaritas, according to the company's website.
The Albuquerque Taco & Margarita Festival is scheduled to be at Civic Plaza on Oct. 2.
