A known repeat offender has once again been accused of sexual assault of a female University of New Mexico (UNM) staffer in her own office, according to KRQE.

The alleged offender is Michael Todd, age 31, who has been arrested several times in the past but has been released by the presiding judge every time, the station reported. Todd was nearly banned from campus grounds for a past incident prior to the incident on Monday.

Lt. Larry Bitsoih with the UNM Police Department commented on the individual's record.

“Other charges are from criminal trespassing, resisting and evading police officers, criminal damage to property, breaking out windows, whether it’s a personal vehicle window or building windows, and I believe he’s been charged for even graffiti,” Bitsoih told KRQE.

New Mexico state Rep. Stefani Lord (R-Sandia Park) took to Twitter to voice her displeasure at the

"I tried to make amendments to bills last session to keep sex offenders locked up and off the streets while Democrat politicians pushed for lenience and half time for sex offenders," Lord tweeted.

According to police, Monday's incident was more violent and aggressive than Todd's past crimes. According to the report, he walked into the employee's office and grabbed her before throwing her on the ground and groping her, KRQE reported.

The staffer was rescued when a co-worker heard screaming coming from her office and opened the door. The police were then called and responded to the incident.
