MTX, a Texas-based computer service and software firm, has decided to establish a Southwest regional office in New Mexico and is bringing hundreds of new well-paying jobs to the area along with it.
The company announced it plans to create 250 jobs over the next five years at its new office in Albuquerque. Although the company is still finalizing where the office will be, they do plan to lease office space and invest $2 million into the new office complex, according to a press release.
"New Mexico is more competitive than ever in being able to recruit innovative companies which can bring quality jobs to the people of New Mexico," Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham (D-NM) said in the release. "MTX will now make Albuquerque its regional hub and with that brings 250 new high-paying jobs that will keep our young professionals in New Mexico and build a more resilient economy."
The New Mexico Economic Development Department said the average salary for employees will be $106,000, KRQE reported.
According to that same article, MTX previously partnered with more than 30 states including New Mexico for COVID-19 contact tracing software and noted the company announced they'd be collaborating with Central New Mexico Community College.
