Tribute

I was born on April 13, 1963 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in my beloved Santa Fe, NM. I was blessed with being born to the most wonderful parents, Lucy and John G. Gorman. I was greeted at home by my siblings Patricia, Geraldine, John and Danny. Our home was filled with Roman Catholic traditions, acceptance, discipline, and so much unconditional love and laughter.

Being Roman Catholic and following family tradition, I attended St. Francis Elementary School and St. Michael’s High School, graduating in the great Class of 1981. Time spent at St. Francis and St. Michael’s has wonderful memories for me. I created lifelong friendships and received an excellent education. I was always so proud to be a cheerleader for St. Michael’s as I loved being a Horsemen. I loved my high school years.

I completed undergraduate school in 1985 from St. Mary of the Plains College located in Dodge City, KS with a B.S. in Biology. I was also a cheerleader for the college and served as Academic Commissioner amongst many other activities. College was also a wonderful time of my life and I made great friends, but I struggled with being home sick for my beloved Santa Fe and my family.

Most of my professional career has been at Los Alamos National Laboratory where I worked in microbiological research, chemical management, and finally in Air Quality Compliance. Along this professional journey, I have met the most wonderful people who have touched my life forever and I am forever grateful for them.

The highlight of my life was giving birth to my daughter, Elizabeth. I did not know true unconditional love until I became her mother. She is a bright star in this world and I feel she is the most amazing gift that I am leaving on this Earth.

The love of my life is my husband, Steven. I have never felt more loved and accepted for who I am as a person. Being loved just for who you are is indeed a true gift.

I always wanted to bring some light and positivity to the world as well as to people around me and I hope that people who really know me, felt it around them. That would make me happy.

I am survived by my spouse, Steven, my daughter Elizabeth, my son-in-law Alex, my sister Patricia and my brother John and his partner Michelle. I am also survived by my nieces, nephews, and cousins whom I love very much along with so many dear and special friends. Thank you all for loving me so much. I have lived a truly blessed life.

I have chosen my pallbearers to be John Gorman, my brother; Alex Bower, my son-in-law; Brandon Hall my Godchild and nephew; Shannon Hall, my Godchild and niece; Tony Hernandez, my Godchild; and Scott Wilburn, dearest friend.

My family will receive friends at the Berardinelli Family Funeral Home, 1399 Luisa St. Santa Fe on Sunday, August 29th, 2021 from 6 to 8pm with Rosary at 6pm.  The Mass time on August 30th is still to be confirmed.  Burial will take place on August 30th at 1:30pm at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.

Please see my obituary on the Berardinelli Funeral Home website for updates on the service time and to leave tributes for my family.
