Elidoro “LoLo” Gonzales, age 90, passed away peacefully at his home on July 23, 2021. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Connie; his parents Miguel and Josefita Gonzales; brothers Antonio, Apolonio (Pol), Jose, Manuel, and Arcenio; sister Della; brothers-in-law Don Eiland, Eddie Ortiz, Patrick Ortiz, and Jerry Ortiz; sisters-in-law Ana Maria Gonzales, Teresa Gonzales, Eleanor Bove‘ (Betty Lou), and Glenda Ortiz; niece Donna Sanford; nephew William Eiland. He is survived by sons Richard (Sheree), Gregory (Joyce), and David (Shirley); sister Ortencia; sisters-in-law Lola Gonzales, Ruth Gonzales, Alicia Eiland, Eleanor Ortiz, and Christine Ortiz; brothers-in-law Rudy Ortiz and Phillip Bove‘; grandchildren Antonio (Jen), Nina Higgins (Matt), Nicholas, and David II; great-grandchildren Lucas, Evan, Justin, Mikayla and David; and numerous other family members, friends, and colleagues.
Elidoro was a 36-year veteran of the United States Army and the New Mexico National Guard. He was a devoted and active member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish, and for more than 3 decades, a vital member of the 8:00 a.m. Spanish church choir. Elidoro loved to sing and he loved to share his voice with others. He also belonged to the Society of the Blessed Sacrament and in the early mornings, in the Adoration Chapel, he would faithfully sit quietly in prayer.
Visitation will be held at Berardinelli Family Funeral Service on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., and recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 7 p.m. The funeral mass will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 417 Agua Fria St. Santa Fe, NM on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow in the Parish Hall.
*Interment at the Santa Fe National Cemetery, 501 N. Guadalupe St. Santa Fe, NM on August 23, 2021 at 1:30 p.m.
