Ermenegildo "Herman" Garcia

Ermenegildo Garcia “Herman” of Los Ranchos, NM passed away peacefully at home on July 29, 2021, at the age of 90. He was born on January 25, 1931 in Los Ranchos, NM to the late Jose Gabriel Garcia and Elvira Garcia.

He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He worked at Sandia National Laboratories as a Security Police Officer and retired after 41 years of service.

He is survived by his five children: Patrick Garcia and wife Margaret of Los Lunas, NM, Linda Sanchez and husband Jonathan of ABQ, NM, Daniel Garcia of Fort Collins, CO, Darlene Critelli and husband Philip of ABQ, NM, and James Garcia and wife Robyn of Castle Rock, CO; nine grandchildren: Martin and Mark Martinez, Danielle and Samuel Garcia, Jessica, Jennifer, and Ashley Critelli, Abigail and Emma Garcia; and six great-grandchildren: Alyssa, Valeria, Andres, David, Marco, Miguel and a boy on the way; three sisters: Stella Chavez, Julia Lechuga, and Rosalina Garcia.

He is preceded in death by seven brothers. He was a proud father and grandfather. He loved horses, farming, gardening, and the outdoors. He was a hard worker and had a good work ethic. Celebration of Life to be held on August 12, 2021 at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 9502 4th St. NW, ABQ, NM 87114. Rosary at 8:00 a.m., and mass at 9:00 a.m. Interment at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 3:00 p.m.
