Obituary
Cordelia Marie Hernandez, a beloved lady of faith and grace, peacefully passed away in Albuquerque, New Mexico on Thursday, July 22, 2021, surrounded by her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend. She was a dedicated homemaker who loved to cook. She was a member of the Arte de Cocina club, a gourmet cooking group, a member of the Sonado Club for over 60 years, and a member of Casa Angelica. She was born in Chama, New Mexico in 1932 and married Pete C. Hernandez in Alamogordo, New Mexico in 1951, moving shortly thereafter to Albuquerque, New Mexico.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete; and her daughter, Gloria Denise Koury. She is survived by her son, Chris Hernandez and wife, Lucia; daughter, Teresa Godfrey and husband, Bryan; daughter, Elena Hernandez; son-in-law, Gerald Koury; grandchildren, Alex Koury and wife, Amzi and Peter Koury and wife, Michelle; great-grandchildren, Naila, Luca, and Noah Koury; and many beloved family members and friends.
We plan to celebrate her life of 89 years on Friday, August 6, 2021, at a 10:30 a.m. Rosary and an 11:00 a.m. Mass at Our Lady of Assumption, 811 Guaymas Place NE.
Cordelia will be greatly missed by all who have known her and will forever remain in our hearts. She will be an ever-present influence in our lives.
