Mayor Tim Keller and One Albuquerque Youth Connect announced that registration is now open for the city’s fall youth programs.

The programs include before and after school care at 26 Albuquerque Public School locations, community centers and multi-generational centers, according to a City of Albuquerque release, and would give working parents options when it came to their scheduled pickups.

"Working parents shouldn’t have to choose between getting their hours or picking up their child from school in the afternoon. Year-round, we want every kid in Albuquerque to have safe and engaging opportunities to continue learning and growing," Keller said in a tweet.

Registration fees are between $10-15 and many of the sites will offer transportation for children to the facilities from their schools.

“We were able to return to close to normal operations this summer, and are looking forward to a great fall season,” said Family and Community Services Division Manager Cristin Chavez-Smith. “The safety of our kids is always a top priority and we will continue to monitor the guidance from the state on COVID-19 safe practices.”

The before and after school programs are set to begin on Aug. 11, with all of the 26 programs taking registration on a first-come, first-serve basis.
