Aragon, Aurora, Age 83, passed away Sunday, July 11, 2021. She was born in San Antonito, NM on March 13, 1938. Aurora was as cheerful as her favorite color, yellow. She was a beloved caregiver to many children in her life, both related by blood and not. To those of us blessed to know her, her cooking (especially her famous fruit pies) brought joy and comfort, and her words and love brought peace. Her wisdom was beyond this life. Until we meet again.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Florencio and Antonia Duran; her brothers, Hernando and Sosten; nephew, Stevie; and niece, Liz.
Aurora is survived by her loving husband of over 60 years, Julian Aragon; daughter, Mary Patricia Arellano; grandchildren, Jose I. Arellano Jr., Elizabeth Candelaria and husband Aaron; great grandchildren, Jaylene Marie Skywalker Arellano and Orlando Jose Luke Candelaria; brother, Diego Duran; sister, Erlinda Perea; many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews; and close friends, Darlena and Frankie Ortega, Debbie and Joseph Hernandez, and their respective families.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 pm and a Blessing at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at Strong Thorne Chapel, 1100 Coal Ave. SE.
