Biography
Edward “Eddie” J. Dominguez was born on October 13, 1950 in Santa Fe, NM and passed away peacefully on May 18, 2021 at home in Colorado Springs, CO, surrounded by family. He was proceeded in death by his mother Stella Ortiz, father Nick, son Juan, and brothers Charlie & Nick Dominguez. He is survived by his brother Leonard Dominguez, sister Sandra (Martin) Dominguez, sister-in-law Lora Dominguez, brother Albert Dominguez, his daughter Carla (Tim) Dunford, sons Victor and Brian Velasquez, daughter-in-law Lisa Velasquez, his grandchildren Thomas Dunford, Candis Dunford, Marcus Velasquez, Tristan Velasquez, Marissa Velasquez, and Mariah Velasquez and numerous nieces and nephews. Eddie served in the United States Air Force and was a Vietnam Veteran. He was an underground coal miner for several years before obtaining a bachelor’s degree from Regis University and working for the New Mexico Occupational Health and Safety Bureau (NM OSHA) and Trinidad State Junior College, where he worked until his retirement. He was passionate about workers’ rights and safety and helped so many. He was a beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend and will be sorely missed.
Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, June 3, 2021 at 8:30 a.m. at Cristo Rey Catholic Church located at 1120 Cannon Road, Santa Fe, NM followed by interment at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 501 N. Guadalupe Street, Santa Fe, NM.
