New Mexico State University student Molly Streich has become the university’s first recipient of the DAAD-RISE award from the Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst, or German Academic Exchange Service. The RISE program offers research internships for students in STEM fields.

For three days in May, 20 students from New Mexico and the surrounding region traveled to Las Cruces to learn about veterinary medicine and animal science at an overnight summer camp at New Mexico State University (NMSU). This event, hosted by NMSU’s Cooperative Extension Service in the College of Agricultural, Consumer and Environmental Sciences, provided hands-on animal experience for 8th through 12th graders to explore career opportunities and tour facilities. In 2023, NMSU hosted a pair of similar camps.

New Mexico State University has been awarded a grant that will assist Arrowhead Center in developing and deploying four Sprint Accelerators. With support from the NMSU Foundation, NMSU’s Arrowhead Center received the Community Foundation of Southern New Mexico and El Paso Electric’s New Mexico Economic Development Initiative Grant.

For eight years, the Feminist Border Arts Film Festival (FBAFF) at New Mexico State University has focused on short films. In its ninth year, the festival will also screen feature-length films and include a day-long zine fest from June 28-29 during International Pride Weekend. Zines are self-made, small circulation publications.
