On December 8, 2025, Leger Fernández addressed concerns about impending changes to healthcare coverage under the Affordable Care Act (ACA), urging bipartisan cooperation in Congress. She stated: " 23 days left before ACA tax credits expire and 22 million Americans see their premiums skyrocket.

Leger Fernández has represented her district through several election cycles. In the most recent general election in 2024, she defeated Sharon Clahchischilliage by a narrow margin; previous victories include defeating Alexis Martinez Johnson in both the 2022 and 2020 elections.
