Rep. Block on Albuquerque runoff election: 'Please join me in donating to Darren White and helping save the largest city in NM'

John Block, a state representative for the New Mexico House of Representatives, has urged supporters to contribute and volunteer for Darren White's Albuquerque mayoral campaign. Block emphasized the necessity for stronger leadership in the city. This statement was made on X, a social media platform.

"Please join me in donating to Darren White and helping save the largest city in NM," said JOHN BLOCK, New Mexico State Representative for 51st District (R). "Donate and support him in whatever way you can. I should go door knocking for him later this month."

Darren White, who previously served as Bernalillo County sheriff and New Mexico public safety secretary, is campaigning for the position of Albuquerque mayor. His platform focuses on reducing violent crime and enhancing city governance, attracting significant conservative backing.

According to Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Uniform Crime Reporting data, Albuquerque's violent crime rate remains among the highest for cities of its size. Concerns persist regarding homicide, theft, and drug-related offenses in recent years.

Albuquerque has received over $377,000 in taxpayer-funded matching campaign contributions through the city's public financing system for mayoral candidates. This system aims to promote transparent and equitable elections.

Representative John Block serves Otero County in the New Mexico House of Representatives. He is known as a conservative legislator advocating for law enforcement support, border security, and fiscal responsibility while maintaining an active role in statewide Republican initiatives.
