The Department of Arts & Culture in Albuquerque has opened nominations for the 2026 Creative Bravos Awards, which recognize artists and cultural contributors who help shape the city's identity. The awards have been given since 1985 to honor individuals and organizations that impact Albuquerque’s creative scene.
Nominations are open until 4 p.m. MST on December 4, 2025. Submissions can be made through this link or via the city’s official site at https://www.cabq.gov/artsculture/creative-bravos-awards. Self-nominations are not accepted.
The awards acknowledge those whose work enhances both the artistic landscape and economic growth of Albuquerque. Since their inception, over 220 recipients have been recognized, ranging from established figures in the arts to emerging talents.
First Lady Elizabeth Kistin Keller and the Department of Arts & Culture have hosted the event annually since its revival in 2018. The ceremony will take place at the Albuquerque Museum next spring, honoring achievements across several categories and highlighting contributions from local creators, cultural workers, and arts organizations.
Additional details about the nomination process and information on past recipients can be found on the program's webpage.
