Felicia Orth honored as New Mexico's Public Lawyer of the Year

Felicia Orth has been named New Mexico’s Public Lawyer of the Year. The recognition was part of a ceremony held at the State Capitol's Rotunda, where public lawyers who have significantly impacted the lives of New Mexicans were acknowledged.

During the event, Cam Rosenberg received the Craig Othmer Scholarship. Felicia Orth joins previous awardees such as Sally Malavie, Paula Tackett, Clifford Rees, and Jon Boller.

The ceremony also provided an opportunity for attendees to meet influential figures like John Yaeger, who was noted for his work and mentorship to young senators.

The Public Lawyer of the Year Award is an annual honor given by the State Bar of New Mexico. It celebrates attorneys who have shown excellence in public practice through their character, integrity, and dedication to public law. This award is specifically aimed at recognizing those with significant government service who serve as mentors and role models but might not otherwise receive recognition for their contributions.

Lieutenant Governor Howie Morales expressed pride in acknowledging these lawyers' contributions on behalf of the state. "I was proud to give remarks on behalf of the State recognizing public lawyers who have made a significant impact on the lives of New Mexicans," he said.
