Leo Jaramillo elected as West Region Chair for NHCSL

State Senator Leo Jaramillo, a Democrat from Española, has been elected as the West Region Chair for the National Hispanic Caucus of State Legislators (NHCSL). The NHCSL is a bipartisan organization that represents Hispanic state lawmakers throughout the United States. Jaramillo's election took place during the NHCSL’s annual national meeting in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

In his new role, Senator Jaramillo will be responsible for representing and coordinating legislative leadership across 13 western states and territories, including New Mexico. This position allows him to play a significant part in shaping policy and fostering collaboration among Hispanic legislators in these regions.

"I am proud of our state’s leaders who are attracting deserved recognition nationally," said an official from the New Mexico State Executive - Lieutenant Governor's office.
