University of New Mexico Health leaders Alison Webster and Summer Bloise have been named to prominent positions within the National Association for Medical Staff Services (NAMSS), a national organization representing medical services professionals.
Webster, who serves as director of medical staff services and credentialing verification at UNM Hospital, will take on the role of President of NAMSS in 2026. This marks the first time someone from New Mexico has held this position in the association’s history. In her new role, Webster will be responsible for helping to set the strategic direction for how medical staff services adapt amid ongoing changes in health care. According to Webster, “To have two team members in national leadership roles within NAMSS speaks volumes about the caliber of talent and leadership within the greater UNM Health System.” She added, “The work that UNM Health has done to advance the field of medical services professionals is shaping the future of health care—ensuring that credentialing, privileging, and provider enrollment continue to uphold the highest standards of quality, compliance, and integrity.”
Summer Bloise, executive director of managed care, provider enrollment and revenue optimization for UNM Medical Group, Inc., has been appointed Chair of the NAMSS Certification Commission. Previously serving as a member of this commission, Bloise played a key part in launching NAMSS’s first Provider Enrollment Specialist Certification Exam. As chair, she will oversee efforts to maintain and develop NAMSS certifications that recognize expertise in provider enrollment—a field that continues to grow more complex.
Bloise’s new responsibilities include ensuring these certifications remain relevant and uphold industry standards for excellence.
Webster said her upcoming presidency reflects not only her commitment but also highlights UNM Health’s influence on national policy and standards for credentialing and privileging professionals.
