Employees from Love’s Travel Stops joined the reopening of their location at 2200 6th St. NW in Albuquerque on November 13. The Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce was present to show support for the updated site.
The renovation brought the location up to current standards used by Love’s Travel Stops, which operates a network of 644 sites across 42 states. Founded in 1964 and based in Oklahoma City, Love’s serves professional truck drivers and other motorists with round-the-clock access to fuel, food, and other amenities. The company also runs more than 430 truck service centers under the Speedco and Love’s Truck Care brands.
Love’s currently has two operating locations in Albuquerque and is planning a third near the Albuquerque International Sunport. Statewide, there are 13 Love’s locations.
During the reopening event, Love’s made a $5,000 donation to UNM Children’s Hospital. Since 1999, the company has raised over $60 million for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals nationwide.
"The Chamber celebrates Love’s Travel Stops success not only in New Mexico, but across the country," according to a statement from the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce.
