Eastern New Mexico University (ENMU) will introduce a new fundraising initiative called “1ROO for ENMU” on November 20, 2025. The program is designed to reshape the university’s annual giving process by allowing donors to contribute directly to academic, athletic, or community projects that match their interests. In addition to financial contributions, the initiative encourages alumni and supporters to share personal stories about their connection with ENMU.

The name "1ROO" draws inspiration from the signature “Roo” call used among Greyhounds at ENMU, symbolizing a personal commitment to helping others and supporting the university community. The program aims to foster unity among students, alumni, and supporters by collecting and highlighting these personal statements throughout the year.

ENMU System Chancellor Dr. James Johnston stated: “I am very excited for the launch of this program. This fund allows divisions and departments of the University to respond to opportunities and to support student success.”

Supporters interested in making an annual donation can do so through ENMU’s new online giving platform at giving.enmu.edu. Members of the community are also encouraged to visit enmu.edu/ShareYourRoo in order to share their individual stories related to their time at ENMU.

For further details about 1ROO for ENMU, individuals may contact Amanda Baca, Director of Annual Giving and Engagement.
