Rep. Teresa Leger Fernández criticizes Senate provision and urges support for amendment

Rep. Teresa Leger Fernández, a member of the U.S. House of Representatives, posted a series of comments on November 12, 2025, criticizing recent legislative actions and highlighting her proposed amendment.

In her first post at 00:10 UTC, Leger Fernández wrote, "One last chance." Shortly after, at 00:13 UTC, she added another comment: "Shame."

Later that night at 02:01 UTC, Leger Fernández elaborated on her concerns regarding Senate provisions and healthcare affordability. She stated, "If they want to fix this, they should vote for my amendment in a few minutes. Pretty straightforward.

It’s outrageous that Senators snuck in a provision that would pay themselves MILLIONS for their role in January 6 while refusing to help families afford life-saving health care."

Leger Fernández has served as the U.S. Representative from New Mexico since winning her first election in 2020. She defeated Alexis Martinez Johnson with 58.7% of the vote that year and was re-elected in both 2022 and 2024 against different opponents.
